Artist Crush : Pierre Boncompain

I have fallen in love with the work of Pierre Boncompain, he is recognised as a modern French master, through his painting he presents the pleasures of life in Provence with a Mediterranean vividness.

His paintings are joyful and charming, using simple themes such as nudes, still-lifes and landscapes, but his approach to the paintings are expressive, experimenting with composition, patterned surfaces, line and vibrant colour. The everyday becomes magical through his eyes and his paintings.
